Learning to Write SEO Articles
|
When I first started writing online articles, I plan I could reach up with a topic, write about it, and have it published. Yet, when I started writing for Associated Drawl, I discovered writing online entails more than what I thought. As I compared my low number of views per article to the high traffic articles of prolific Associated Roar writers, and as I read more about SEO and keyword density, I learned there are some things I have to change if I want to become a successful online writer.
1. I have to get into the habit of writing about well-liked topics and not just topics that I enjoy. Just because I enjoy planning programs for girls doesn’t mean a titanic number of people are going to flock to an article about planning programs for girls. However, I’ve learned from Associated Content writer Amy Brantley if I go to the New York Times “Most Searched List” (www.nytimes.com/gst/mostsearched.html) and write about one of these topics, I may get more traffic to my articles. When I’ve looked at the New York Times list, I’ve discovered, at least, two or three topics of interest. Essentially, like any writing job, I don’t have to have a passion about a topic to write about it, but it does help to have an interest in it. 2. I have learned that writing about one of the hot topics isn’t enough. According to Associate Content writer Yuwanda Murky, I have to include keywords in my articles to increase traffic flow to my articles. I even have to include keywords in my titles. Using a word or series of words in moderation increases the chances of thousands of people finding my articles. However, I have to be careful of overusing keywords because search engines will penalize me by making my articles less prominent, according to www.Xomba.com. 3. I have learned that writing for online sites isn’t objective an opportunity for me to be published. I can’t objective write an article and assume people will read it. As Amy Brantley points out, I have to promote my articles. Anywhere that I have an online presence—my website or my blog sites– is a potential promotional site for my articles. The sites for which I write ask me to produce traffic to my articles, which, in turn, benefits them. It is a win-win situation. As I become more proficient at writing articles using SEO and keywords, more writing opportunities will be available to me. I’m grateful for Associated Narrate writers like Amy Brantley and Yuwanda Black who write helpful articles that assist others in being more successful online writers. Sources |
