I have a MacBook Pro and I tried to hook up my Dell printer, but it did not work. Must I have the CD or something, or are they simply not compatible?
You need the software installation CD that came with the Dell or online at Dell's Web site to review. See if there is any install files in order to work for the Mac. And even if you check the Web site what it is for "System says to. "If this is not a list of OS X there is any, its probably not compatible with Macs period. at least I have been lucky with HP (Models with Mac support at), Cannon, and Epson printers with Macs. Just Incase you need to do in order to buy one new, I would look at any of the three brands.
