Small Business Networking Tips
|
Small Business networking has exploded my food business. We starting in business almost 6 years ago knowing little or nothing about small business networking. If you are a small business owner, you will be amiss if you do not employ these networking tips for small businesses. Small business networking is an important procedure to effectively market your small business. Small business networking is a very popular and effective marketing strategy.
Join The Chamber Of Commerce One of the most important small business networking tips I can offer is to join your local Chamber of Commerce. There, you will meet other small business owners who can allotment with you their business experience and perhaps even offer you some of their own networking tips for small businesses. Also, when you join your local chapter of the Chamber of Commerce, you will secure information on community activities and events. This is a great opportunity to exchange marketing and business experience as well. During your small business networking at the Chamber of Commerce you might even meet others who will be interested in your business or service. The Chamber of Commerce has been invaluable to our food business. Rotary and Kiwanis Club Membership Another small business networking tip that will help you grow your cramped business is joining civic organizations such as the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club. Rotary and Kiwanis Club members involve themselves in the community and can be grand resources to you, the exiguous business owner. Industry Specific Clubs or Organizations My next tip for small business networking would be to join an industry specific club or organization. For example, if you are in the restaurant business like I am, you might want to join a restaurant or food related organization. When you join an industry specific organization, you will meet people in the same business as you are which will allow you to share your experiences and exchange small business networking tips of your own. Usually, organizations such as these represent at definite times of the year, conventions and conferences. By attending these conventions you will be networking with vendors who are specific to your business. You might even want to choose the opportunity to become a vendor for an industry related organization. As a food business owner I like to abet the National Restaurant Association show and the Admire Food explain. Both are held in our local convention centers. In your small business networking endeavors, you will find that some organizations charge an upfront fee to join. You will have to pick and choose which ones would be most beneficial to your small business or industry. To see which organizations you think might be best for you, call them and ask if they will allow you to sit in on their next meeting. You should know though, that membership into these organizations will require a time commitment from you, but it’s well worth it. Our local Chamber of Commerce allows their restaurant owner members to choose turns hosting monthly meetings. The exposure for small business networking is priceless. Small business networking is a valuable and important marketing strategy that will help your small business grow. |
