|
Almost all blogs and websites converse of SEO but they tell you little about it. I myself shuffled through hundreds of sites to know more about SEO but all they tell you is to expend the keywords you want to rank high for, as many time as you can. While I accept that it is very important for SEO but there are still many other things you want to know when designing a niche site and when Search engine optimizing it.
When designing niche sites, your only objectives to know/do are: a) How competitive is it. i.e. If you type 2 or 3 keywords of your niche into Google, and you see 80 million other pages, then ranking on first page for that niche is highly unlikely. b) Decide what keyword phrase you want to rank high for. What I mean by this is: What would Uncle Sam have to type into Google so that your site is seen on first page? Let’s bellow your niche site is about “how to boom parrots to talk”. c) Think: “Do the people in my niche actually have money to consume? ” You don’t want to effect site in a niche on “how to get out of debt”. Because those people don’t have money to pay for your e-Book/product, since they’re in debt already. ============================= Here are some tips for SEO if you’re impatient to research about it: Also note that PR means PageRank, a system used by Google to filter results by relevance to the keyword. 1) Google has something called Sandbox. All new sites go in there. And no matter what you do, your site will remain at rock bottom for at least 3-4 months. But there are ways around this. Google will treat your domain as junk and will immensely decrease your chances of ranking high if you register your domain for 1 year. Because all spammers register for 1 year. So register for over 1 year. Including the keywords of your niche in the website, will increase chance of getting higher on Search engines. Especially on Yahoo & MSN. 2) A domain that starts with a number (e.g.: 1computerstore.com) will always outpoll (ranking based) a region that starts with a letter (e.g. computerstore.com). So attempt to make a domain start with number. If can’t, then make it stop to a, b, c, d. If you still can’t, then no worries. There are ways around it. 3) SE’s (especially Google), cherish changing notify on your site daily. That’s why you should use RSS feeds. Here’s a free one: http://rssfeedreader.com/. Your mission is to find a feed that’s daily updated and it’s content is related to your niche, and include that feed on bottom of your site. Put no more then 5 feeds, with no more then 150 characters of the article. Else you’ll dilute your on-page keywords, and that’ll kill any SEO efforts. 4) If you look any sites that know about SEO, you’ll notice that they attempt to include the 3-4 keyword phrase on the page as the first thing as possible. i.e. Include that before any other content. The first 250 words on your site are the MOST important. Form distinct to infiltrate the first 250 words with keywords related to your niche. And divulge the well-known keywords multiple times, while still making sense. Anything that you attach between tags, gives you extra points for that phrase being ranked high for. So keep your keyword phrase between these tags. But don’t do this to all of them, or SE’s will instantly see that as an attempt of spam. 5) You can get indexed by Google and have your site appear in their index within 3 days or less by placing your sites link on a PR 5-8 position. You want to find your sites link on as many PR4+ sites as possible, without you having their link on your site because now SE’s discard you if you do 2 link exchange. Instead you want to do 3 arrangement linking. You place your primary sites link on their high PR plot. And you place their sites link on another spot that you have that’s related to same niche as your primary site. 6) This point will explain you that as a general rule, get your sites link on as many sites as possible. Link on another site is better then no link at all. See: linkmetro.com for link exchange sharing. Include a Privacy Policy/Terms of Service on your site. SE’s now actually peep for this. And give you extra credit in terms of ranking higher if you have it. Because they retract the site is more serious and is not spam, since spam sites never have TOS/PP. 7) Create a sitemap of your site with http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/, then upload urllist.txt and sitemap.xml to your sites root. Then subscribe and validate your status through Google Webmasters (http://www.google.com/webmasters) and Yahoo Siteexplorer (https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/my. Then tell them the location of your sites sitemap. For Google, spend sitemap.xml. For Yahoo, use urllist.txt. 9) DO NOT submit your spot to the three big search engines manually. Let them pick you up through other sites. Go to addme.com and submit your site to all those search engines. But tick OFF, Google, Yahoo and MSN. 10) If you are an affiliate and earn by selling products created by others then exercise the formula C-T-P-M. When creating a sales site for purpose of selling a product, stick to the proven formula A-I-D-A. Hope these steps help you. If you want to add any other tips, let them come in comments.
