1. What is the difference between the Copper cable and fiber optics?
Even if fiber optic cables may look like the traditional copper cables, we must always bear in mind that fiber cables inside are fragile glass fibers which can be broken easily if not treated properly.
2. What are the most important things to obey cable installation fiber?
In a fiber optic cable project installation, you must keep two very important things in mind: First, never too bend the fiber cable over its minimum bend radius. Second, never pull on the cable manufacturer cable pulling tension specifications.
3. What minimum bend radius (MBR)?
Fiber cables all have a minimum curve radius of specifications by the manufacturers. The minimum radius of curvature while bending the fiber cable in both installation process or after installation in its final position rest. You can make curves more important, but never less than indicated.
4. What is responsible MBR?
It is fiber cable bend radius specification during a cable pull as in the installation process. The cable must not bend tighter than its loaded MBR at any time during the installation process. Loaded MBR is greater than MBR discharged as explained below.
5. What is unloaded MBR?
It is the radius of curvature of the fiber specifications in final resting position of the cable after installation. It is when the cable is under no tension. Often, this specification is determined by a simple multiplication such as 15 ~ 25 X OD (fiber cable outside diameter).
6. What is fiber MBR?
Optical fibers are composed of individual fibers (strands). The fibers also have a minimum bend radius specification, which is usually 2 ~ 3 cm and is much smaller than the cable jacket.
7. What would happen if a fiber optic cable is bent smaller than its minimum bend radius?
Bending of a cable fiber on its MBR is one of the most important factors in the fiber damaging projects in Fiber cable installation. This practice can either break the fibers inside or increase fiber attenuation (power loss fiber) over the manufacturer's specifications. Even if the fibers inside are already broken, you may not see any physical damage to the exterior at all. The consequence is, you to replace the entire section or even the entire length of the cable. As good practice, all fibers must be thoroughly tested after installation cable.
8. What Pulling tension?
Pulling tension is the Force per unit square section of cable Fiber cross. Maximum pulling tension during installation of fiber cable are specified by the cable manufacturers and should not be exceeded at any time. Most efforts to pull on the cable occur in a vertical installation and is caused by the own weight of the cable.

a. The cable must be pulled by hand as much as possible
b. Pulling tension should always be monitored when using mechanical techniques traction
c. Cable must be pulled in a steady movement continuous and never shake
d. Never push a fiber optic cable
