Is the Dell XPS M1730 is still a good gaming laptop these days?

It is also good for your money?
That a great laptop that can easily run today's DirectX 10 games you have mentioned (in high quality at max resolution I might approximate!). But, I think with that kind of installation you are breaking the $ 3.5k Range. One would like look at the Alienware Laptops for better design and hardware options at this point. Moreover, if you want to do some extreme gaming, you can opt for a desktop instead. You can use the same components for less and you have the option to upgrade the components later (which is sometimes very difficult to do on a laptop). A desktop can be more durable and longer lasting also. Laptops are prone to everyday transportation and disposal of overheating as poor. Not to mention that hardcore gaming laptops suck energy like No Tomorrow (so you do not many of you when the battery from the charger).
